Beltinger, Mattias, double bassMatthias Beltinger completed his double bass studies in Essen and Berlin. Afterwards, he was a scholarship holder of the Berlin Herbert von Karajan Foundation.
In 1984, he joined the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen as double bass soloist. He has performed a lot of chamber music in different ensembles of the orchestra and is a member of the wind soloists of the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen.
Beyond this, Matthias Beltinger has devoted himself to the historical double bass and performs regularly with the Freiburg Baroque Orchestra, the Academy for Ancient Music Berlin, Concerto Köln, and the Chamber Orchestra of Europe. In addition to his musical activities, he has founded a company together with a sound expert for improving the acoustics in concert halls, churches and other performance venues.
One result is the at first sight simple, yet at closer listening(!) fascinating development of new resonance podiums for double bass players, cellists and harps, which make the sound of these instruments clearer, richer in overtones and more resonant. This lets the musicians hear themselves better, and the audience can hear the sound in a more differentiated and better articulated manner. |
